When mentioning the word, “creativity”, this word is certainly good because it can makes listeners feel good after hearing. When mixing this word with other words, such word will be more valuable immediately, for example, the word, “media” referring to “anything that is the medium between source and receiver that brings message or content from source to receiver leading to results under objective of communication.” When it is mixed with the word, “creativity”, it will become “creative media” with more positive meaning than the word, “media” only.
If we are able to analyze on and apply the word, “creative media” to drive practical operations concretely for solving important problems in Thailand efficiently, for example, problem on insurgency in southern border provinces, we will not wonder that huge creative value can be certainly occurred.
To live and improve life as well as to solve problems of people in a society, whether such society is a small society like family, community, etc., or large society like national society or larger society, “communication” must be used as the basic tool for living and improving quality of life.
Such communication must starts with good attitude towards communication because good attitude will make “communication” positive or become creative communication as mentioned above.
When communication starts with positive attitude, opportunities on success of communication will be higher. The result is that receiver will understand under the direction as defined in content of communication.
Moreover, if such “creative communication” is a kind of communication on power, great, and precious things towards mind of many people, for example, “Sufficiency Economy”, such creative communication will give huge benefits undeniably.
Good attitude is the beginning and it is also considered as the important foundation of creative communication. However, another important thing that can make “creative communication” successful is that person who communicates through creative communication must have skill on modern communication, especially communication skill in digital world.
Skill of communication in digital world is skill to analyze media or information and news, communication design, development of communicated content, or digital media broadcasting, production, and utilization.
Good attitude supported by skills required for communication in digital world will make this creative communication more powerful.
One fact that cannot be denied by everyone in the society is that communication network in digital world that is called Social Media is so powerful therefore if we want to double power of creative communication, we are required to utilizer Social Media.
Social Media and other kinds of digital media will create creative media network and this network almost has no spatial limitation as long as internet is able to access to such area. Without a doubt, double empowerment of creative communication will be immediately occurred.
The Fifth Operation Center Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC 5) with responsibility on integration of prevention and solution to solve problem on insurgency in the areas of southern border provinces has highly realized on “power of communication of creative media” therefore activities for creating creative media and creative media network were held to support enhancement of understanding for security of solution to solve problems in southern border provinces.
There are 5 objectives of these activities as follows: 1) To seek for regional leader of model mass media with knowledge on the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy covering various social dimensions, for example, dimensions on environment, economy, and innovations, etc.; 2) To develop potential of model mass media in all regions of Thailand including data analysis, utilization of modern media, and new presentation channels; 3) To build positive attitude and media ethics in order to reduce social conflicts, especially issues or fake news that are spreading on Social Media; 4) To build good relationship among mass media in different regions and to build network to connect mass media with agencies and organizations; and 5) To stimulate “participation” and “internal explosion” of mass media in all regions.
To achieve these 5 objectives, ISOC 5 holds various activities including: 1) activities to develop mass media, improve knowledge, build basic understanding of regional mass media, and select excellent mass media; 2) activities to develop potential of mass media that is selected as the leader of mass media group; and 3) documentary content via digital media landscape.
Creative communication is considered as an important mechanism to promote good things or solve social problems. If such things or problems are complex, communication requires more quality creativity.
Quality of creative communication is caused by quality of media that must start with good and creative attitude. Importantly, there must be communication skill in digital world and network of persons who act as creative media that is the important mechanism to double empowerment of creative communication.
Enhancement of understanding for security in solving problems in southern border provinces requires persons who act as creative media with good attitude, communication skill in digital world, and qualitative connection with creative media in the form of network. This will lead to positive news presentation and creative communication on local situations more extensively.
